Flying the flag for The World Butchers' Challenge

It's the biggest butchery competition in the world

A showcase of the finest butchers on the planet, from Great Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, South Africa, Greece and Spain, all battling it out for the world championship title. Our client, the UK's retail butchery specialist Dalziel was joint sponsor.

Publicity had been limited, so Dalziel asked us to help promote The British Beefeaters on their journey to IFEX 2018 at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, Belfast. It was an honour. More than that, it was about raising the profile of the butchery industry and raising standards as a craft to be proud of. It was action from the start. Working alongside The World Butchers' Challenge Council in Australia, the WBC UK Council, The Institute of Meat and other sponsors, we set to work on a programme of publicity to highlight Team GB's quest, from team preparations, announcements on the finalists, biographies on team members and testimonials, the sponsors, the countdown and the successes at the big event. And to maximise trade publicity, we secured a key media partner with Meat Management, the UK's meat industry publication.

Team GB came away as proud winners of the coveted 'Best Beef Product'. And global coverage was extensive across all social platforms, BBC Northern Ireland, Meat Management, Global Meat News, Meat Trades Journal, Farmers Guardian, as well as local and regional media. With the postponement of WBC 2020, we're looking forward to British Beefeaters being back in action in the future.
