Publicity on draft proposals to transform the Black Country created outstanding exposure for client Black Country Consortium (BCC).
BCC is the organisation driving the Black Country’s urban renaissance. betterpr was tasked with publicising progress on transformational proposals and promoting the region as an important inward investment opportunity.
Acting as BCC’s media desk, we developed an integrated campaign that engaged with key stakeholders to communicate progress and awareness of sweeping regeneration plans.
Tasks included promoting its bid as an Urban Park, managing BCC’s profile at the world’s leading property summit MIPIM, and publicity on a groundbreaking partnership with Microsoft UK to upskill the region.
Partnership working with BCC’s stakeholders - RegenCo, Walsall Regeneration Company, Brierley Hill Regeneration Partnership and four local authorities - enabled us to craft compelling messages.
Just a year after our appointment, we generated over 154 items of media coverage and over 13.5 million opportunities to see with front pages and headlines in The Birmingham Post, Express & Star, Estates Gazette, Property Week, The Guardian, The Observer, BBC Midlands Today, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio WM and many more.
Sarah Middleton, chief executive of BCC, said: “The publicity has not only prompted huge support for our proposals, but has also helped demonstrate our successful partnership working arrangement.
“betterpr has brought inspired creativity to our photo shoots and events. We know we can rely on them, even given the shortest notice.”
